Holistic Centre for Body, Mind & Spirit

Using the principles of Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Psychodynamic Counselling, our practitioner assesses how an individual’s behaviour is connected to their inner feelings and self-image. Counselling and psychotherapy is useful for many issues including bereavement, anger management, anxiety, stress and depression, as well as relationship issues and couple counselling. It may be that your life has no balance or that things have become too overwhelming or complex, or have broken down because of specific events.

Whatever the cause our therapist will invite you to share and explore your world without shame or fear and, in return, you will be offered a respectful relationship where you will be safely held in a confidential setting. You will not be judged and we promise to hold your story with respect as you explore your presenting issues and personal challenges.

Throughout your journey, your practitioner will be there beside you whilst you explore your own unique thoughts, feelings and emotions about the past and any concerns you may have for the future. This creates an opportunity in our busy world where you can take time out to express feelings, identify problems and work to improve relationships within yourself and with others.

Our practitioner is a UKCP-registered therapist offering counselling and psychotherapy for many issues. She has worked for the past ten years in both the public and private sector and has an MA in Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. She is accredited with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and is also a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

She says, “I believe that an individual’s behaviour is connected to his or her inner feelings and self-image. I will look at the human behaviour not only through the eyes of the observer, but through the eyes of the person doing the behaving. I invite someone to show me their world, and offer a here and now relationship where I hope they will feel safely held within a confidential setting and not judged, so that we can get to grips with any fears they may have.

“I am of the view that our past may influence our future and I promise to be alongside you as you undertake your own unique journey towards self-development. It may be that your life has no balance or things may have completely broken down because of specific events, however for the time we are together I will hold an open space for you to enter and explore the world without shame or fear. I can do this because I believe that I hold the whole person, and the uniqueness of that person as an individual. I hold a firm belief in the noble human capacity to overcome hardship, pain and despair, in other words, I believe in the person.”
