Case study – Fran

All of the case studies you will read here are the experiences of real Anam Cara clients. They have asked for their real names not to be used to protect their privacy but all of them wanted others to know that problems can be overcome, whatever they are.

I had heard a great deal about Deep Memory Process (DMP) and Past Life Regression but never thought it would be something I would personally do. But when I got the opportunity to attend a workshop at Anam Cara and was asked if I wanted to be the ‘guinea pig’ it was all the encouragement I needed to take the plunge.

There was a small group of about 6 of us who attended. To start with the DMP facilitator gave us a brief history of what had drawn her to this work and an insight into some of the people she had worked with which was fascinating. We then did a deep meditation and visualisation exercise which encouraged us to become aware of the parts of our body that held particular emotions like pain, guilt, fear and anger. We then had to show them by drawing onto a body map which we were given. As a group we then had a brief discussion about the significance of these feelings before I was asked to take my place for the individual demonstration of how we could creatively use this information.

I was quite nervous as I didn’t quite know what to expect but the practitioner reassured me that it would be fine. She took me into a deep meditative state and then asked my deeper self permission to bypass my conscious mind and talk directly to my subconscious. Feeling relaxed and safe, I said yes. It was a strange experience, I was aware I was talking although the words were just flowing out of my mouth without any direct thought. I was asked to describe the pain I was feeling in my neck, which I had earlier related to that of fear. I described fully the image of myself in what I suppose can only be described as a ‘previous life’. I had a very clear image of who I was, how old I was, what I was wearing, where I was and the nature of my death which was a direct result of why I was experiencing the pain in my neck in my current life and why it resonated so powerfully with the emotion of fear.

The DMP practitioner then took me through a series of images and enactments which were quite intense but not scary or daunting. These resulted in me feeling much calmer and relaxed once the process was finished. She then counted me back into the room where I was immediately alert, clear headed and able to share with the group my interpretations of what had occurred. There had been similarities with certain other aspects and experiences in my life, for example related key dates and names. After this amazing process, I was able to assure the group that I was absolutely fine.

It was a very unique experience which I don’t think would appeal to everyone, however I can honestly say that immediately after it left me astonishingly pain free in my neck area. Since the process I have had an additional sense of release and freedom in many other areas of my life. I would have no hesitation in undertaking DMP again in the future.
